The EA July upstream fish counts for the River Wear at Durham show 3464 fish, which is down on last year, but are they accurate? The count for the Tyne at Riding Mill is a record with more than 10,000 fish through the counter. The Tyne has suffered very low water too.
Reports tell us that there have been plenty of fish in the river and that fish are going around the new fish pass at Durham, so we have no idea how accurate the fish count is be it could be better than stated.
Remember, we provide a link to the EA sites at the right of this page. You will also find a link to the river levels.
Please let us know how you get on.
