Willington Water

There are three main parking places close to the river.

Sunnybrow

Close to the Brown Trout Pub at Sunnybrow, leaving a short walk down to the riverside and the footbridge (the old “Pay Bridge”).

 

Best for access to the waters upstream towards Furnessmill farm.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next to the Jubillee Bridge at Willington.

Car Park at the Jubilee Bridge This is the main parking are adjacent to the river bank and convenient for accessing waters   up or downstream.

Additionally parking is available at the Cenotaph leaving a short walk down to the river but a longer walk back to the car later.

Page Bank

Just off the Spennymoor to Brancepeth road.  (Whitworth Lane).  Useful for accessing the waters from the downstream  ( east) limit.

Eastgate

Parking is roadside (A689) with a short walk down to the river.

Ferryham Croxdale

Parking at the hotel by the side of the A167 Darlington to Durham road and close to the viaduct.
