A quick tip for the summer.
The warm weather may well take you out into open countryside, fishing or for family fun. We do not want to spoil your fun but please be aware of the risk of ticks from deer. These can hang in trees and long plants waiting for a host to pass when they will tranfer to exposed areas.
Further to the item about Giant Hogweed we are currently not aware of any on our waters though we know it exists further down river.
We do have the native, much smaller Hogweed which does not pose the same dangers but if you become aware of any Giant Hogweed ( and GIANT is the word) be sure to report this to the club and to the EA.

Circumstances beyond our control caused the Dr Chesters Senior Trophy ( sponsored by Anglers Lodge at Jubilee Lakes) to be fished one week late. However we still enjoyed an improved turn out on previous years. We apologise to any angler who intended to fish but was unable to make the re-arranged event. (more…)
