Trout Stocking

We have a small change to our stocking this year.

Previously fish have been marked with a black spot however this year in an attempt to reduce the handling required to distinguish a stockie from a wild fish the adipose fin has been removed.

Please do all you can to return wild fish to the river quickly with as little harm as possible, quick recognition should help with this. Thank you.

  1. Thanks for your comment David. We are not permitted to stock with fertile fish, Salmon or Sea-Trout, that’s the legislation.
    We stock with Triploid Brown Trout to ensure good fishing for our members.
    Further to this we are asking for members feedback on the report from The Wild Trout Trust which we commissioned last year. We have published the report on this site, please feel free to read it and come back to us with your thoughts.
