The K. D. Johnson Cup

The competition was fished at Witton Castle Lakes in what can best be described as testing conditions.

A howling wind, gale force was forecast, contrived to keep the numbers down but those who fished had a great day despite the conditions.

Last year Brian Conway took the honours when his bag included a fish in excess of 6lbs. Try as he might he couldn’t find a follow up this year as a very close competition was won by Norman Fletcher with a total weight of 6lbs 90z.  and fully intends to defend the title next year, whatever the weather.

Put this date in your diary now. The KD Johnson Cup will be fished mid-August next year, details decided at the AGM.      Thanks to Witton Castle for hosting the event , to Shaun Stoker for the photos and to the anglers who defied the conditions to support the competition.
