Day Permits COVID-19 special arrangements.

We’re fishing again, here are some examples of great fish which have been taken so far.

In line with the COVID-19 requirements , to protect anglers and key workers in a shop, we wish to make day permits available without need to queue in a shop.

Permits are available from Sheldon’s newsagent, subject to their opening times and safety requirements but we are also making permits available via e-mail on a trial basis.

To request a day permit please complete the attached request form and e-mail it to the secretary at :   or the treasurer at

Requests should be submitted no later than the day prior to fishing.

Payment  to be made via bank transfer to

Account no. 43427390   Sort Code 20 – 83 – 73 including the reference WADAC Day.

When your payment is confirmed a permit will be sent by e-mail. to enable you to fish the following day.

Only one angler per permit. Angler will need to be in possession of a current and appropriate EA licence in the same name as the permit being issued.

Prices: Adult £10 per day ( excludes migratory fish) : Junior (under the age of 16 when fishing) £5 per day.

The club recommends that all juniors should be accompanied by a responsible adult.

WADAC Day Permit Request

  1. Hi can you please advise if day tickets are still available from Sheldons?
I cannot populate the online ticket application.
My friend Sally & I have fished your water with Stuart Wardle and had a great day.
As we live in York we would like to make the fishing when weather and river height is reasonable.
    Regards Peter Welsh

    1. Really sorry for the delay Peter, I’ve been away for a couple of weeks.

Day tickets are available at Sheldon’s, but in the interest of speed drop an e-mail to the secretary and we can proceed from there.
